...a
self-contained,
worm
based
composting
toilet
that
only
requires
a
120cm
diameter
site
to
sit
upon
and
stands
190cm
in
height.
The
unit
can
be
supplied
with
or
without it's own guttering,
water
collection
tank,
basin
and
foot
pump for washing hands.
There
is
a
bark
layer
which
covers
the
inside
base
of
the
containment
chamber
and
this
acts
as
a
bed
for
the
hungry worms.
It
is
easy
to
maintain
and
clean
having
two
under
floor
drainage
holes
to
allow
hosing
down
of
the
interior if needed.
Operation:
Use
of
the
‘solids
sweeper’
located
either
side
of
the
toilet
chamber,
avoids
urine
contamination
of
the
solid
material.
Changing
sides
at
1
or
2
week
periods
is
recommended
depending
on
use.
Using
the
sweeper
handle
to
hold
the
toilet
paper
roll,
makes
it
easy
to
remember
which
side
you
are
currently sweeping.
After
making
a
solid
deposit,
you
use
the
‘solids
sweeper’
to
manoeuvre
the
solids
to
the
side
of
the
chamber.
Urine
drains
freely
out
from
the
base
of
the
unit
through
some irrigation line, or to a soak hole.
Please
remember
that
solid
material
is
contained
inside
the
toilet
chamber
and
composted by the worms.
There is no waste smell, only the composting process taking place.
Note:
The
efficient
worms
will
break
down
95%
of
the
solid
material leaving 5% compost.
Removal of the Compost:
This
can
be
done
through
the
seat
opening
or
through
the
portals
located either side of the chamber.
Use of a trowl is recommended for effectiveness and ease.
The
worms
will
dive
downwards
and
hide
so
you
are
not
hurting
them.
Use of the Unit:
Based on the diameter of the chamber we recommend the
following usage.
1) One person daily use
2) Two people weekend basis
3)
A
group
ie
4-6
people
for
a
week
or
two
then
left
for
a
month
for worms to catch up
Excellent
for
baches,
orchards,
cow
sheds,
community
gardens,
